The present Fire Department in Dunlap parks an outstanding fleet of rescue vehicles in a beautiful modern facility.
The present fire department officers are:

Mike Anderson, Assistant Rescue Captain

The Dunlap Fire Department is continuously accepting applications for new volunteers to serve.
To apply to serve, Dunlap area residents in good health can reach out to any of the above individuals to request an application. There is no cost to apply.
Volunteer firefighters for the City of Dunlap must:
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be of good moral character
- Be substance-abuse free
- Have a valid Iowa driver's license
- Be able to read, write, and understand the English language
- Pass a physical examination and drug screen
- Successfully complete an oral interview
- Pass a physical agility assessment
- Be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Be willing to take medical and fire training classes (paid for by the Fire Dept.)
Volunteers are considered on-call anytime that they are in the Dunlap area and all volunteers carry pagers so that they can easily be alerted.
