Dunlap Parks

Dunlap has four public parks that offer recreation and gathering spaces:

Dunlap City Park
The Dunlap City Park, located between North 8th and 9th Streets and Montague and Jeroleman Streets offers a public swimming pool, a basketball/pickleball court, expansive playground equipment, four shelter houses, a Gaga ball pit and plenty of room to run and play!

Pleasant View Park
Pleasant View Park is located on Eagle Street on the eastern edge of town. Here you will find a pond with a dock and a jetty for great fishing, a paved walking path and natural hiking trails, two shelter houses, and a brand-new playground. There is also a disc golf course and great hill for snow sledding! Throughout 2024, noticeable enhancements were made to the Park with funding from the Iowa DNR REAP Grant. These improvements included: electric power being ran down the hill to the park facilities, the pedestrian bridge being replaced, new shade trees being planted around the playground, and a new mural being painted on the side of the restroom.

Check out this video of updates that were made to the park in 2024, thanks to Iowa DNR REAP Grant funding!

Dunlap Pocket Park
The Pocket Park was installed in the summer and fall of 2024. With funding from Dunlap alumni, Doug Stockstad, (in memory of his parents Ray and Margeurite Stockstad), the Iowa West Foundation and the Harrison County Foundation, this space was transformed into a stunning area to gather. It is a great place to enjoy a coffee, take a break for shopping our local businesses or sit and visit with friends.

Schaben Park
Schaben Park is located southwest of town, between Dunlap and Woodbine. It is nestled in a stunning woodland area with a six-acre lake, trails, a campground with water and electricity, a shower house, two picnic shelters, a playground and a dump station.
